FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common admissions queries. Still have a question? Contact us.

Is CLAT mandatory for admission to LL.B or BBA+LL.B? +

CLAT is not mandatory but preferred. Students can also apply through the Karnataka Law Entrance Examination (KLEE), LSAT-India, or seek direct admission based on merit, subject to seat availability. You can also appear for the ISBR Aptitude Test.

I am from a Science / Commerce background — can I apply for BBA + LL.B? +

Yes. The BBA + LL.B programme is open to students from all streams — Arts, Commerce, Science — who have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC / ST). There is no stream restriction.

Are there age restrictions for PG Diploma and Certificate programmes? +

PG Diploma and Certificate programmes have no age restrictions. They are open to fresh graduates, working professionals, and anyone with the minimum educational qualification. The age limits of 30 years (General) and 35 years (SC/ST) apply only to the LL.B programme, and 20/22 years apply only to BBA+LL.B.

What documents are required at the time of application? +

For online submission: scanned copies of 10th & 12th mark sheets, graduation certificates (for LL.B / PGD), Aadhaar card, entrance score card (if applicable), and passport-size photographs. Originals, transfer certificate, migration certificate, and category certificates must be produced at the time of in-person admission.

Is hostel accommodation available for all programmes? +

Yes, ISBR provides separate hostel facilities for male and female students. Rooms are allotted on a first come, first serve basis after payment of the refundable security deposit. See the Hostel Fees tab in the Fee Structure section above for detailed pricing.

How is the scholarship evaluated and when is it applied? +

Scholarships are evaluated at the time of admission based on your X & XII academic performance and/or valid entrance exam scores (CLAT, UGAT, LSAT-India, or ISBR Aptitude Test). A 50% waiver applies for 9 CGPA+ or 85 percentile+, a 25% waiver for 8 CGPA+ or 75 percentile+, and a 20% sports waiver for national-level achievers. The scholarship applies to the first year tuition fee only.

Can I pay fees in instalments? +

For multi-year programmes (LL.B, BBA+LL.B, PG Diploma), the annual tuition fee is payable before the commencement of each academic year — so effectively year-by-year. For Certificate programmes (6 months), fees are paid as a single payment. For any flexibility queries, please contact the admissions office directly.
